That’s Eric “Tuma” Britton signing an autograph for a fan at the Venice Skatepark.  The skatepark is only a little under a year old but it has already become a favorite place for pros, groms, legends and everyone in between to meet up for a killer session. Photo by Dan Levy.

- JULY 10, 2010 -

- JULY 25, 2010 -

Riley Stevens was ripping at the Sunken City Skateshop x Transitions Skateshop Summer Shred Fest at the Channel Street Skatepark in San Pedro, CA.  All that concrete is DIY and a damn good time.

- JULY 29, 2010 -

So that’s what a gold medal smile looks like.  Jake Brown celebrated his X Games 16 Mega Ramp victory at Lucky Strike bowling alley with our friends from Venice Originals.  If you can’t tell by the look on their faces, it was a riot.

Great prizes.  Better skating.  And apparently great conversation.  Sean Malto sits back and takes a lesson from some of the greats at the Maloof Money Cup in Costa Mesa.

- AUGUST 6-8, 2010 -

Rune Glifberg and Robby Russo at the Coastal Carnage contest in Huntington Beach.  Some super sick tranny was built and thrashed for three days straight, truly living up to the name carnage.

THE DAILY JUICE : JULY 2, 2010

Laird Hamilton, one of surfing’s legendary wave riders, recently spoke out on the turmoil in the Gulf Coast;  touching on the heart wrenching effects the oil spills have had on the wildlife and people inhabiting the area.  Using the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) as his medium to present his and his wife  opinion, Laird released a video statement detailing the risks of off-shore drilling for oil and the costs of neglecting the health of our oceans.  Surfers around the world have spoken out about this tragedy and it’s long term effects.  Watch the full video and see for yourself.  A hardcore personality like Laird never lies.  If you haven’t already read it, get to know Laird a little more as he’s interviewed by Jeff Ho in Issue 57. – JESS BRAAM

Juice TV – Venice Skatepark Grand Opening

On October 3, 2009, a new chapter of Dogtown Chronicles began with the grand opening of the Venice Beach Skate Plaza in Venice, CA. A legendary array of skateboarding icons, sk8superstars, celebrities and rippers-on-the-rise made for a day that will go down in skateboarding history. Jesse Martinez, Christian Hosoi, Eric “Tuma” Britton, Aaron “Fingers” Murray, Cooksie, Scott Oster, Tim Jackson, Kelly Jackson, Ray Flores, Steve Olson, Alex Olson, Mark Jones, Brian Patch, Eddie Reategui, Dave Duncan, Darrell Delgado, Bennett Harada, as well as members of the Zephyr team: Bob “The Bullet” Biniak, Paul Constantineau, Allen Sarlo, Nathan Pratt, Cris Dawson and its creators: Jeff Ho, Craig Stecyk and Skip Engblom, were among the sk8/surf VIPs in attendance. Los Angeles’ Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Councilman Bill Rosendahl were on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony. With blistering skateboarding being thrown down in the bowl, snake run and street course, the neighborhood christened the new 16,000 square foot world class skatepark and “took the power back”. Respect the tradition.
