We’ve all been exposed to the musical thrash on the senses known as Rage Against the Machine and if you haven’t then check it out. Well let us introduce to you One Day as a Lion, Rage frontman Zack De La Rocha’s side project with former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore. Their first performance was this past weekend in Pomona, CA and they had a lot to say. Accompanied by Joey Karam (Locust) on the keys, One Day as a Lion rocked the Aladdin Jr. restaurant for a lucky few hundred. While at the show De La Rocha spoke out against the new immigration laws, said to allow “racial profiling”* that are set to take effect in Arizona July 29, 2010. Many have spoken out against the immigration laws, but when conveyed through the barrage of jazzy funk-punk tunes from the band it seems a little more forceful.
Zack will be performing with Rage Against the Machine at The Sound Strike Stop SB1070 Benefit Show this Friday July 23, 2010 in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium. Their first show for Angelenos to enjoy in 10 years. Proceeds from the show will go Puente, Arizona and The Florence Project; both are organizations in Arizona that are geared towards repealing this new law. Don’t miss out.Rage is one of the best live bands there is. Click here to buy tickets.
