JUICE MAGAZINE DAILY DOSE OF SURF : SEPTEMBER 22, 2010

Sick is what this video is.  Fuck yeah to these dudes for charging when there’s a hurricane on the way.  Surf City, North Carolina locals Cody Leutgens, Slater Powell, Mike Beech & Zack Rice saw the surf up as Hurricane Igor pumped waves their way.  Shots from the vid were from Wrightsville Beach’s pier and jetty to Topsail Island’s piers & some secret spots. Check out Rice and the  Surf City Surf Shop Team.    Keith Ketchum has some more sick surf shots too. – JESS BRAAM

JUICE MAGAZINE DAILY DOSE OF ART : SEPTEMBER 17, 2010

This Saturday, September 18th, Venice-based art collective Anchor Cult is
curating a group art show at Hotel Shangri-la (1301 Ocean Avenue, Santa
Monica, CA) from 3pm to 10pm. The show, presented by Tamie Adaya, is a
benefit for the Venice Family Clinic, the nation’s largest free medical
clinic. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit the clinic.

We’ve tapped an eclectic mix of artists whose work is inspired by or
utilizes public spaces including pop-art celeb Shepard Fairey, NEA award
winning poet Paul Vangelisti, style icon Kime Buzzeli, original Z-Boy
skater and surf board shaper Chris Cahill, painter and poster girl Dee Dee
Cheriel, and OG graffiti artists Brother Israel, Krush, and Xpress. In
other words, we’ve got street art for street medicine.

The show will held outside by the hotel’s swank pool where DJs will be on
the ones and twos. So, come and check out some amazing art, take a dip and
enjoy a cocktail–all for a good cause.

See you there! And make sure to RSVP here:
