SURF REPORT : JULY 19, 2010

In sports history there have been few publications that have been able to not only propel themselves to elevations of success but also sustain their position on top of the market.  Surfer is one of those magazines.  Congratulations on influencing the persons, technology and culture of surfing for the last 50 years.   To commemorate this publication landmark Surfer has put together a book that is loaded with some of the heaviest athletes and personalities in the sport.  Edited by former Surfer editor Sam George, the chronicle of the magazine and its  ever present relativity to surfing will engage readers in the following:

Resplendent photography from the SURFER collection throughout the years
Reflections on pivotal stories from past issues that changed the face of surfing
Revelations such as Chris Mauro’s distaste for Kelly Slater’s early surf style, christening the LazorZap as the worst board design ever, and naming the top five surf spots that SURFER was late to report.
